James Mendelsohn
MANAGING DIRECTOR
James Mendelsohn is an experienced leader and operator in financial services. His career has focused on lending and payments, with specialty expertise in raising debt and equity capital for clients in diverse industries and stages of growth. He has worked with both large and small companies on capital optimization, go-to-market strategy, product and geographic expansion, and M&A.
James has held leadership roles at several firms, including notably Capital One, where he was Vice President of Corporate Strategy, and CAN Capital, where he was Chief Marketing & Sales Officer. He was a leader in McKinsey’s Marketing & Sales practice, advising global clients in the financial services sector. James has advised large global companies including Goldman Sachs, Wal-Mart, Discover Financial Services, FIS Worldpay, and Western Union, and a set of emerging fintech leaders including Liberis and Fundbox.
James holds an MBA from the University of Maryland, and a BS Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was an NSF Fellow.

Mallory Pappas
Operations Manager
Mallory Pappas, Operations Manager at Proximo Capital since 2024, brings a wealth of experience in financial services, strategic planning, and client service. With a background in lending and credit, she focuses on raising debt for small enterprise clients and managing key relationships within Proximo’s capital network.
Mallory began her career in legal and risk management at Rapid Finance, where she gained expertise in financial contracts and research. She transitioned to business finance, contributing to record loan originations in 2022 and supporting business development and partnerships. Prior to Proximo, she spent a year at a tax and advisory firm helping small businesses with growth strategy and corporate structure.
Originally from Baltimore, Mallory’s passion for business strategy stems from her family’s business. A University of Maryland graduate and Terp sports fan, she enjoys attending Ravens and Capitals games

Blake Hartzel
Transaction Specialist
Blake Hartzel, Transaction Specialist at Proximo Capital, is dedicated to enhancing office collaboration and customer engagement through strategic process implementation. With a bachelor’s degree in finance and two years of hospitality experience, Blake excels in time management, Microsoft Office, and creative problem-solving. A key contributor to the team, he consistently brings a positive mindset, delivering high-quality processes and driving results that align with Proximo's goals.

Jack Murray
Investment Banking Associate
Jack Murray is an Associate at Proximo Capital, bringing three years of experience in financial services, with a particular focus on complex derivative valuation. Prior to joining Proximo, Jack spent two years as an Audit Staff and one year as an Audit Senior at Deloitte, where he specialized in financial services and gained significant expertise in financial statement analysis and derivative analysis.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Catholic University of America and is a licensed CPA in Virginia. With a strong command of Microsoft Excel and a deep understanding of financial reporting, Jack contributes valuable insights to the team. Outside of work, Jack is a passionate Boston sports fan, enjoys spending time at the beach, prioritizes fitness and nutrition, and values quality time with his family.

Collin Casey
Investment Banking Associate
As an Investment Banking Associate at Proximo Capital, Collin Casey is involved in deal origination and execution, helping drive strategic investments. Prior to joining Proximo, Collin worked for two years as an Investment Operations Analyst at a Private Family Office, where they focused on private and direct investments. Additionally, they spent two years in Business Development at a Government Contracting SaaS company. [Name] holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, graduating in 2020. Outside of work, [Name] enjoys coaching baseball in their free time.

Madelyn Pulver
Investment Banking Associate
Madelyn Pulver is an Investment Banking Associate at Proximo Capital, where she works closely with clients to structure and bring their deals to market, refine materials, and execute diligence to help them raise capital. With expertise in building financial models, client management, and creating marketing materials, Madelyn is licensed with both the SIE and Series 79 certifications. She played a key role in closing the $60M Silverleaf deal.
Madelyn began her career at Baird on the Government & Defense Investment Banking Team in Tysons Corner, before spending time in venture capital and ultimately joining Proximo. She holds a B.S. in Finance from St. Louis University. Outside of work, Madelyn has recently developed a passion for running and completed the DC Half Marathon in March. She also enjoys spending time with animals, learning golf, and cooking.

Christina Sayoc
Executive Assistant
Christina Sayoc is the Executive Assistant and Office Manager at Proximo Capital, with plans to transition to the Marketing team in the coming weeks. In her current role, she supports James with calendaring, travel, office management, and assists the operations team with onboarding and offboarding, as well as team engagement. Christina also provides program support for Quantus Funding. Prior to joining Proximo, Christina worked as an Executive Assistant at Equitable Advisors, where she supported the EVP, contributed to DEI initiatives, and assisted with recruiting efforts. Notably, she played a key role in setting up two CRMs currently in use, launching Quantus (including its website), and helping James grow the company from two employees to nearly nine.
Christina holds a BBA in Business Management and Marketing from Temple University, an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Mercer University, and is currently pursuing a DBA in Strategic Management at Liberty University. Outside of work, Christina has recently taken up tennis and soccer, enjoys reading and cooking, and is an active member of her family’s martial arts organization.

Anna Velleco
Executive Assistant
Motivated and detail-oriented Executive Assistant with practical experience supporting dynamic teams and senior staff. Recognized for being proactive, reliable, and a fast learner in high-paced environments. Brings strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a natural talent for managing schedules, tasks, and shifting priorities. Committed to growing professionally while delivering consistent, day-to-day support that keeps operations efficient and on track.
